February 14

Valentine's day and we had the whole crew over. All our kids and grand kids and the Wunders and their kids and grand kids too. This is my Kate Kate Garden Gate! She is a ball of fire! She just gives her parents hell and I love it!

February 13

The waterfall in the back yard. I actually shot this one "hand held."

February 12

Ok so now I am begining to feel like an old cat lady. You know the kind that is always taking pictures of her cats and blogging about whatever her cat did that day. But once again my kids run from me when they see me with my camera and my wife made me promise that I would never post a picture of her on this blog so. . . . . .Here is a picture of Lady Di hanging out on the top of our bed canapy frame. She jumps from the bed to the headboard then up to the frams. She will spend hours just hanging out up there. Weird cat.

February 11

The storm that "rolled in" yesterday dropped a little more than rain. This is "The Bicycle Dude" a sculpture we have in the court yard of the gallery. One funny point about Bicycle Dude. There is a Veteran's housing complex next to the studio and occasionally I visit with one or more of the residents as they walk past the gallery. One gentleman told me that every time he passes by he rubs Bicycle Dude's hat, just for good luck. I hope it brings him the luck he is hoping for.

February 10

Back to dance with the girls again. So it is either bumming Target again or driving through Centerville to find something to take a picture of. I found this. This is the steeple of the Centerville tabernacle. There is a bit of a rain storm rolling in from behind.

February 9

I love ice water, especially when it has been sitting on the counter for a little while and the ice has started to melt. However! by sad experience I have found that I can not leave my water unattended. Charlie (the cat) now runs for the kitchen whenever he hears the ice dispenser running. It seems that he likes his ice water the same way I do and now when the little girls drink from my glass, they blame it on him!

February 8

It is Monday, Annie is in Scotland so I am running dancers to Centerville. I still think that the greatest place to see sunsets is as high on the east bench of Centerville as your 4WD can get you. Here is a little proof.

February 7

We spent the afternoon and evening with Jen and Steve for their youngest daughter's baptism. It is always so much fun to be with them. I shot this candid of Lesil, Cameron and their "soon not to be the youngest" showing everyone. "Where's yer nose?"

February 6

Today was the funeral for my sister Dea. This is one the photographs that the family had on display at the church, it is one of my favorite pictures ever. That is my sister Rhonda, my mom and Dea. It was nice to see family and remember. It was my nephew Spencer that made the event easier for me. He hugs everybody! Next funeral I go to I am wearing shorts and orange tennies!

February 5

Jane and I got into St George a little early so I drove her out to see a house I had done some work in. The field in front of the house was filled with Canadian geese. I wanted to shoot the "fly out" but I couldn't talk Jane into running through the field so I had to chase them into the air myself. Once again people are wondering who is the strange guy running through the Cox's field swinging a camera at the geese!

February 4

Colin and Mandy's little girl. I have seen proud parents in my life but never two so thrilled as they are with this baby girl.

February 3

Emma had her first gymnastic meet today. I think I was more nervous than she was. I know Jane was. This is the team waiting their turn on bars. I told Emma I wouldn't take any pictures of her competing so that I wouldn't distract her. I handed my camera to one of the other fathers and told him fire at will. We got a few good ones. This picture best describes the gymnastics experience. A bunch of sitting around broken up by four very short moments of sheer panic. "Salute! don't for get to salute!"

February 2

Some body likes to dodge the camera. I caught Katherine mid-dodge. There is a little motion blur in her arms but I got a good shot of her very pretty eyes.

February 1

I shot a bunch of these one evening on the way to pick Katherine up after her dance class. Not quite as distracting as texting while driving but more distracting than eating while driving, photography while driving has certian advantages. . . . .all the great pictures you will have of the accident.

January 31

Another grey "Sunday" in SLC. I understand that the grey diffused light is 'spoze-ta be great for photos but I am really missing the sunshine.

January 30

Grocery shopping with Jane and the girls. They try to run from the strange man in the grocery store with the camera. However, I am trying to get over the embarrassment that sometimes comes with draging a camera with me where ever I go. The wife and family. . . . . .not so much.

January 29

This is what you see from chudan-no-kamae. The ken-sen is a little high but you can get the picture.

January 28

Some of my brushes. I wish they were used a little more often than they are. I do have a new canvas I have started. It will be a little bit of a departure from what I usually paint. It is a commissioned piece for a friend.
